Michael Owen names the team that will not win the Premier League.

Former Real Madrid and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has expressed doubts about England's ability to win the 2026 World Cup.

Owen said the Three Lions (England), currently coached by Thomas Tuchel, will face problems due to the age of their players and the climate.

Speaking to 247Bet, he questioned whether senior players, such as Harry Kane, could be too old by next summer.

Owen said:

Big players like Harry Kane are getting older — and they won’t be getting better, while world-class players like Kyle Walker won’t be around then.”

“Even players like Phil Foden aren’t at the level they were a year or two ago. I’m worried about the defence. We’ve had a lot of good defenders before.

“Now I’m asking myself: who’s going to play left-back? Who’s going to play centre-half? John Stones isn’t getting any younger either.”

Owen added:

“I think we’re better than we were a year or two ago. But football changes quickly. Maybe that year will be good for us, but no — I’m not sure we can win the World Cup at this stage.”

“We’ve had big wins — finals and semi-finals — and we’re a great footballing nation. But I think other countries are better prepared for the conditions at this point.”
